» How much will I get paid?

We offer a straight-forward 50 / 50 split on all profits, which is paid by cheque about four weeks after publication. If you are the first person sending video from a breaking news story you can make several hundred pounds, if you have an exclusive video of a celebrity it could be several thousand. There is no upper limit on how much a video can be worth, we have sold videos for upwards of £20,000 and can always get the best price for exclusives.

» How can I be sure I will get paid for my video?

When you send your video we enter a legally binding contract which guarantees you will get a 50% share of all profits from that video. If there is something you don't understand in the contract give us a call and we will happily discuss it with you. Unfortunately we are not able to sell every video but if you are not happy with our efforts you can terminate the contract by writing to us.

» What quality should I use when I send you a video?

Generally we would hope to get the best quality video possible. Don't worry if you don't have an expensive camera just make sure your settings are on high quality, most compact cameras produce pictures that are high enough quality for publication.

»My video is a tape and I cannot send it on the internet, how do I get it to you?

If you can't send a video on your computer just give us a call and we can arrange a courier to pick it up.

» Will you be able to tell me where my videos are published?

Yes, we will let you know by email or telephone when your videos are used so you can get a copy. You might be surprised by some of the strange publications we work with too.

» Can I apply for accreditation on behalf of 'SellUsYourVideo.com'?

At the moment 'SellUsYourVideo.com' does not employ staff or freelance cameramen so we are not able apply for accreditation on your behalf.

»Do I need to edit my video?

Please send us the raw footage. Some broadcasters will not accept video that have been manipulated so please do not change it before you send it to us.

» Can I remain anonymous when I sell my video?

Yes, there is British and EU law that enables a journalist to protect their sources so if you wish to remain anonymous you can. We will need to know some details about where the video came from so we will need some way of contacting you but we promise not to pass these details on. Of course we need to know where to send the cheque!
